AI for Scrum Masters: How to Work Smarter, Not Harder

I’ll be honest—I was skeptical about AI. Everywhere I looked, AI was being hailed as the next big thing: AI can revolutionize Agile! AI is the new Scrum Master! Some even claimed that AI is the new Agile! Seriously?!

At first, I resisted. Change is hard. But then I asked myself: How can I challenge companies to embrace change if I don’t do the same?

So, I took the leap. A year later, I can’t imagine working without AI.

I’ve learned that discomfort often comes from a lack of understanding, so I set out to explore AI with curiosity rather than fear. I didn’t just want to follow the hype—I wanted to know what AI could actually do for me. And now, I want to share what I’ve discovered.

How AI can help you as a Scrum Master

13. Automating Repetitive Tasks

Scheduling meetings, organizing documentation, and generating reports—AI handles these tedious tasks, freeing up more of my time for coaching, training, and facilitation.

14. Personalized Growth Opportunities

One of the most surprising ways AI has helped me is by tracking my speaking time in meetings. It’s given me awareness of when to step back and create space for others to contribute.

AI: A Scrum Master’s Co-Pilot, Not a Replacement

AI isn’t here to replace Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, or even Agile itself. It lacks the empathy, intuition, and deep understanding we bring to our teams. However, it can enhance how we work.

I see AI as my co-pilot—a tool that provides data-driven objectivity to complement my personal experience and observations. AI shouldn’t make decisions for us, but it can help us make better decisions.
