- We recommend that you have participated in an Agile fundamentals course (e.g. Certified ScrumMaster or equivalent agile training) SAFe® courses are about scaling, and do not go into details with the Scrum framework or agile mindset.
- We also recommend that you have done the SAFe® SM course to get a basic understanding of the SAFe® Scrum Master role and SAFe® Framework.

- After completion of the course, pass the SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master certification exam.
FAQ
Is there an exam after the SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master course?
Yes, after the 2 days instructor-led course, there will be an exam for you to finish in your own time.
The exam is a 120-minute 60-question multiple-choice test. You need 44 of the questions correct to pass. The first attempt is included in the course registration fee if taken within 30 days of course completion. (Retake fee $50). Find more info here.
What is the difference between A-CSM® and SAFe SASM course?
The A-CSM® and SAFe SASM courses differ in focus areas. The A-CSM® course focuses on advanced skills building not married to a specific framework but more focused on the skills of a Scrum Master. The SAFe SASM course focuses on advanced skills for a SAFe® Scrum Master and scaling using the SAFe framework. Being an agile practitioner means believing in continuous learning, both courses are advanced, and based on the environment you work in, there are benefits to both courses.
