The A-CSM® course builds on the Certified Scrum Master (CSM®) course to take your practical skills to the next level and ensure a deeper and practical understanding of the Scrum Masters skills.

Scrum Masters who are ready for the next step in their learning journey and already uphold a CSM® certification.
- Hold a Certified ScrumMaster® certification from Scrum Alliance. (does not have to be active)
- Validated 12 months of work experience as a Scrum Master in the last 5 years.
- Actively participate in the A-CSM® course, including any pre- or post-course work
- Accept the A-CSM® license and complete the Scrum Alliance membership profile when the trainer has approved you.
FAQ
What is the difference between CSM and A-CSM?
The CSM® course focuses on the Scrum Framework in detail and is an entrance course into agile and Scrum. The A-CSM® course focuses on the skills a Scrum Master needs to do a good job, it builds onto the CSM® course.
Why do the A-CSM course?
The A-CSM® sets you apart from other Scrum Masters by showing your continued learning mindset. It shows that you have gone beyond the foundations and are serious about your role.
Is there an exam after the A-CSM course?
No, there is no exam after the course. You get certified by the trainer after actively participating in the course and pre- and post-course requirements.
